2023 and the future

The world doesn’t care about you – I’m not special or amazing. Just an ordinary nobody, really. That might be harsh but it’s better that way. Isn’t it amazing, how so many times we are told the opposite? The repetition of it alone is exhausting but it has an effect. The more we go online and follow people and read posts and scroll through newsfeeds the more we want what others have or are experiencing. It’s a trap that leads straight to our doom. These sites are basically radioactive, so I do my best to stay away from them as much as humanely possible and keep on living. So what does 2023 have in store?

Catching rays

I love it, as I’ve chronicled during my run training for the Athens authentic marathon. But there is more to the torture of being out in the heat. When you live in a cold grey land any sunshine is welcome and basically that means I’m seeking it out – the more the better. If at the end of the year I can say that I got enough sun, then 2023 meant something.

Tension

Whenever it exists there is nervousness and deep down even fear. I’ve learned that having it is a great sign that you’re doing things right. The more tension the more you’re challenging yourself, whether it’s physical, mental, professional, personal, parenthood, relationships or lifestyle. So bring it.

Increase Leisure, decrease productivity

We’re living at a time when all of us need to be productive, even when we are relaxing we need to be developing ourselves, otherwise we are wasting our time, our life, our chance, our youth. Isn’t it ridiculous? How much is enough? Just breath, relax and enjoy. If there’s one thing I got out of mediating in 2022 it’s that the future is brighter when you stop giving a f*@$! about so much stuff. Let’s get on with it.

Parenthood is awesome

Need I say more? It’s so beautiful to be a parent, the ups, the downs, the cries, the laughs, the time together. In a time when it has become trendy to not conceive while simultaneously becoming more difficult for so many people to even have kids I can honestly say that it’s the thing that gives my life so much meaning. Having kids is a real gift and taking that perspective is one of the most rewarding experiences I have ever had. Can’t wait to see what the future holds – more drama no doubt, but that’s a great reminder that we’re alive and here, just kicking it. Smouch smouch
